Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) has recognized Portland medical malpractice attorney
Patrick Block in the latest issue of its
Sidebar publication, which it distributes to its members. In the publication's
June/July 2014 issues, Attorney Block was featured in the "Guardians
Spotlight" section ("Guardians Spotlight: Patrick Block Never
Sleeps," pages 6-7). This feature included some background on Attorney
Block and his involvement in OTLA, as well as a Q&A with the attorney.
In the Q&A, Attorney Block discussed everything from his involvement
in the Guardians program (an OTLA program that lobbies for the election
of pro-civil justice legislators) to a past run-in with the law that helped
inspire him to become an attorney. He discussed both the benefits and
the challenges of his job, advice for new attorneys, his personal hobbies,
the most influential person in his life and more.
As is noted in the Guardians Spotlight feature, Attorney Block significantly
contributes to OTLA by organizing educational programs and events that
are used to advance the knowledge of his fellow attorneys within the association.
He serves on the organization's Education Committee, and he also co-chairs
the Professional Negligence Section. The Guardians Spotlight additionally
noted that Mr. Block provides the highest level of contribution to OTLA's
Guardians program (the "Stalwart" level). Other interesting
facts that were shared about Attorney Block were the facts that he is
the father of five children; he is a part-time farmer (raising pigs, chickens
and turkeys); and he enjoys mountain climbing, biking and running.
Attorney Block has spent more than 20 years advocating for injury victims.
